365Caws is now in its 16th year of publication. If I am unable to post daily, I hope readers who love the natural world and fiberarts will seize those days to read the older material. Remember that this has been my journey as well, so you may find errors in my identifications of plants. I have tried to correct them as I discover them. Likewise, I have refined fiberarts techniques and have adjusted recipes, so search by tags to find the most current information. And thank you for following me!

It's A Snap!
Day 252: It's a snap to grow snapdragons! It's been several years since I bought four colours as bedding plants, and they have self-seeded each successive year. I do find the occasional "volunteer" somewhere surprising, like in the raspberry patch, seed carried there by a bird or perhaps even on the sole of my shoe. Snaps are amazingly tenacious, blooming sometimes even after frost has killed down other plants. If they get a little aggressive, spreading to locations where they're unwanted, they're easy to dig out and transplant to a new spot. Snapdragons are cheery and fun! Every garden should have a few.
