This is the 15th year of continuous daily publication for 365Caws. All things considered, it's likely it will be the last year as it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to find interesting material. However, I hope that I may have inspired someone to a greater curiosity about the natural world with my natural history posts, or encouraged a novice weaver or needleworker. If so, I've done what I set out to do.

Confirmation Of Identity
Update: My expert and her expert got their heads together today over my photos of the frogs and egg mass, and I am happy to report that we are ALL in agreement on the identification: Cascades Frogs. I feel much better now.

Glad for the update. I couldn't sleep last night reliving the nightmare with that so-called expert--the irresponsible, glib identification. Why the world itself might stop spinning if such carelessness is tolerated. Much relieved to hear it is all sorted.
ReplyDeleteI laid awake half the night trying to think of someone else I could refer the photos to for a third opinion (besides my own), just in case the expert's expert was one of those people who don't like to admit they made a mistake. My faith in humanity has been restored! (That said, I did think of another herpetologist I could have called in if the need arose.)
