Anyone who has ever lived with a cat will agree that the best part of any new toy is the box it came in. Merry goes through scratching posts and scratch mats faster than any cat I've ever known, so part of today's project was to assemble a new unit to keep him from sharpening his claws on the corner of my bed. Was he interested in the post? Only marginally. Of far greater interest was the box, but you can't get 17 pounds of cat in a five-pound box, although I may find that statement disproved by the end of the day.
The new scratch post has been accepted.
