365Caws is now in its 16th year of publication. If I am unable to post daily, I hope readers who love the natural world and fiberarts will seize those days to read the older material. Remember that this has been my journey as well, so you may find errors in my identifications of plants. I have tried to correct them as I discover them. Likewise, I have refined fiberarts techniques and have adjusted recipes, so search by tags to find the most current information. And thank you for following me!

Cinnamon Swirl
I decided it was time for a change up from sourdough, at least for two loaves. That's what the recipe in my vintage red-and-white check Better Homes and Gardens cookbook makes. I'm not sure if the recipe is in the modern edition, but I suspect that this version is still under copyright, so I won't share it here. The vintage cookbook can still be found on sites like eBay and Etsy, if you're interested. Anyway...today's news made me feel like taking "change" to the max, so I baked this utterly delicious bread, one of the first breads I learned to make as a young wife all those decades ago. In fact, the very same cookbook was a wedding gift, and I have to admit that there are sticky spots on the pages where my favourite recipes for bread and cookies are, and the section tabs are worn to tatters. We've been friends for a long time, that book and I, doing our finest work when we're "loafing."
